"Gold Tees" Program
The City of Mesa's Riverview Golf Course is making it easier than ever before
for youngsters and novices to learn the game of golf... with the introduction of
it's "Gold Tee Program," which makes the nine-hole course more easily
playable for juniors and beginners.
New gold tees have been added to the course, along with the regular tee
markers for men, women and championship-level players. The gold tees are
located closer to the greens, corresponding to yardage distances established by
the Junior Golf Association of Arizona: 150 yards for Par 3 holes, 150 to 250
yards for Par 4 holes, and 250 to 350 yards for Par 5 holes.
"This is a great addition to the course," says Riverview golf pro Jim
Mooney. "Younger or novice golfers can play from the gold tees,
making the learning process much easier. It makes the game more
enjoyable."
